They are cute!! My favorite way to get natural looking photos is to make people as comfortable in front of the camera as I can. I talk with them, crack jokes (even lame ones work if you don't really know any), ask them questions, and I snap pictures the whole time (usually not while they're talking). They get used to me and my massive camera being in their face. Plus it's fun to get a variety of different reactions to what people say.
I agree with Amanda - its all about developing a repertoire with your clients. If they feel comfortable with you, you're going to go home with some great shots. Conversation and jokes are a great way to break the ice.
